Speech and Language Pathologist - Cicero, IL
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide support in a high school district through a contract position. This role addresses a Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) vacancy from now through the end of the year. Located in Cicero, IL, this position offers a meaningful school-based experience working with a diverse student population.
Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of 45 students with speech and language needs, as well as providing consultative services for 15 additional students. The position operates within standard school hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate different scheduling needs if required.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working within a school setting, preferably with high school students
- Strong caseload management skills and ability to coordinate consultative services
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educational staff
- Knowledge of applicable educational laws and individualized education program (IEP) processes
Location: Cicero, Illinois
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapy services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations as needed
