School Speech Pathology | Elgin, Illinois
A private therapeutic day school serving children with severe emotional disabilities in Elgin, IL, is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide onsite services. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with students ages 3 to 21 in an engaging educational environment.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload of no more than 10 students per classroom, providing 1:1 therapy, and supporting individualized education plans. The role is approximately 30 hours per week through the remainder of the school year, including 15 direct service hours plus compensatory minutes. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., with an extended school year schedule of Monday through Thursday. This position is based at a single site.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Active SLP License and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) in Speech
- Master’s degree in a speech-related field
- Proven ability to write comprehensive Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Experience working in school settings preferred
- No acceptance of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or Candidates in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
