Speech Pathology - Spring Valley, CA
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide maternity leave coverage at an onsite school located in Spring Valley, CA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of students from Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade, focusing on a moderate to severe Special Day Class (SDC).
The current SLP will be transitioning out, leaving detailed documentation and scheduled IEP meetings to ensure a smooth handover. This position requires a professional with experience in school-based speech therapy, holding certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and specialized knowledge in working with pediatric populations in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to TK-5th grade students in a moderate to severe SDC classroom.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings with detailed progress reporting and goal setting.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements.
- Support students’ communication needs to enhance their educational experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology License.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
- Previous experience working within school settings.
- Expertise working with moderate to severe speech and language impairments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
