Speech Language Pathologist – Contract Position
Location: Edgewater, MD (In-Person)
Position Type: Contract (ASAP start through end of 2025-2026 school year)
An elementary school in Edgewater, MD is seeking a skilled and licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide coverage during a staff member’s leave. This role requires an in-person SLP who can deliver high-quality speech and language services to a diverse student population within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students, primarily outside the general education classroom
- Manage a dynamic caseload of approximately 45-50 students with various disabilities including Other Health Impairments (OHI), Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Language Impairments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans guided by each student’s needs and educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other educational staff to ensure integrated support
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with district and state guidelines
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Maryland state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred but not required
- Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in elementary education
- Ability to provide in-person services; virtual or teletherapy services are not eligible for this role
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Schedule & Details:
- Full-time, 5 days per week (37.5 hours weekly)
- Contract duration starts ASAP until the end of the 2025-2026 school year
