Step into a rewarding contract role supporting young learners as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist serving PreK through 5th grade students. Located in the Detroit, MI area, this opportunity allows you to make a direct impact on students’ communication skills and educational success during the 2026-2027 school year. Enjoy a structured Monday-Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours weekly with a manageable caseload of 52 students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech and Communication Disorders required
- Current and active SLP license for the state of Michigan
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Experience working in school settings strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students from preschool through fifth grade
- Deliver individualized therapy to address a variety of communication challenges
- Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and parents
- Employ evidence-based approaches to help students reach their fullest communication potential
