Pediatric School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Detroit, Michigan
Detroit, MI
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work in an elementary school setting within a public school district located near Detroit, MI. This contract role runs through the current school year, from ASAP until June 5, 2026, with a Monday to Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week. The assignment involves working with students from kindergarten to 5th grade.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLP certification with CCC credentials preferred
- Experience in school-based speech therapy and pediatric caseloads
- Ability to utilize appropriate assessment and intervention techniques for children in an elementary school environment
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Comfortable providing therapy in dedicated school spaces with indirect hours for administrative duties
- Willingness to participate in paid team meetings and collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language evaluations and therapy services to students with speech and language needs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and progress toward IEP goals
- Attend team meetings and participate in district training as needed
- Follow all district policies, including compliance with credentialing and any fingerprinting requirements prior to starting
