A Speech Language Pathologist position is available within a school setting located in Des Plaines, IL. This full-time, onsite contract role offers a 37.5-hour workweek serving students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Responsibilities will include supporting a diverse caseload of 20-40 students, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and other speech and language needs, utilizing a push-in service delivery model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students in K-5th grade
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to implement a push-in model of support
  • Conduct evaluations, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and monitor student progress
  • Address a range of communication disorders, including those related to ASD, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities
  • Communicate effectively with parents, educators, and support staff to foster student growth

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) endorsement is required
  • Experience working in school settings with diverse student populations is preferred
  • Strong understanding of speech-language pathology evaluation tools and intervention strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
