Step into a vital role supporting K-12 students as an onsite Speech Language Pathologist for the upcoming academic year, serving communities throughout Michigan, including sites in and around Grand Blanc, Lansing, Detroit, and nearby areas. These assignments are contract-based and offer the opportunity to make an immediate and meaningful impact on student communication skills and their success in the classroom.
What We’re Looking For:
- Licensed Speech Language Pathologists with CCCs are strongly preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFYs) with proof of completed licensure application and pending status may also be considered
- Experience working in school-based settings or familiarity with SLP school requirements is valued
- Preference for candidates who can provide or secure their own supervisor, especially for placements in urban settings
- Must be comfortable working onsite and traveling between assigned school buildings
- Ability to engage positively with students from diverse backgrounds, particularly in urban areas
- Willingness to submit official university transcripts prior to candidacy review
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group speech/language therapy tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and staff to promote language development in daily learning
- Set and track IEP goals, participate in meetings, and maintain thorough, compliant documentation
- Assess students and present clear written evaluations on communication disorders
- Provide ongoing support in the use of AAC systems and relevant training for staff
- Offer in-service training to educators and contribute to important school-wide initiatives
- Manage therapy materials and travel between multiple locations as needed
