Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Akron, OH
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services within a school setting in Akron, OH. This role focuses on supporting pediatric students with speech and language development needs, requiring both clinical expertise and an understanding of educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatric students
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s specific needs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to promote effective communication strategies and support academic progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and treatment outcomes
- Participate in meetings and IEP (Individualized Education Program) planning as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Completion of the Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for candidates without fully established CCC
- Experience providing pediatric speech and language therapy in schools
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with current school policies, procedures, and assessment tools
