Speech and Language Pathologist in Chicago, IL
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available at a middle school in Chicago, IL, offering a rewarding setting to provide essential speech and language services to students. This contract role requires a dedicated professional to support a caseload of 42-50 students, working 35 hours per week with a schedule from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a half-hour lunch break. The position begins as soon as possible, with the end date to be determined based on program needs.
Qualifications:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Eligibility for or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Experience in school-based speech therapy services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and maintain accurate documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver direct therapy services tailored to students' needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and adjust therapy goals accordingly
- Participate in meetings and maintain compliance with school policies and procedures
