A full-time position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students across PreK-12 grade levels. This contract role is based in Newport News, VA, with service extending to nearby areas including Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in school settings and be prepared to address a variety of student speech and language needs.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide therapy for speech, language, and communication disorders in students PreK-12
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet students’ goals
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintain clear documentation and comply with school policies and state regulations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student success plans
Qualifications:
- Valid SLP or SLPA certification/license for school settings
- Minimum of one-year experience working in public or private schools
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development and related disorders
- Ability to work full-time at 37.5 hours per week
- No new graduates; experienced candidates only
Location:
- Newport News, VA, with service coverage extending to Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, and surrounding areas
