A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in Charlotte, NC, offering a matern ity leave coverage opportunity within a school setting. This role involves working with K-8 students, providing a valuable chance to apply specialized skills in a dynamic educational environment. This position is travel-based and allows for professional growth while supporting diverse student populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 25 students, including 55 with general speech needs.
  • Provide therapy for 10 AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device users.
  • Collaborate with two self-contained classrooms, delivering tailored support.
  • Conduct mostly group sessions of 2-4 students, fostering effective communication skills.
  • Co-treat with the Lead Occupational Therapist to enhance interdisciplinary care.
  • Serve 17 speech-only students, focusing on targeted speech-language interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy goals.
  • Participate in school team meetings and collaborate with educators and families.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid SLP credentials, including CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence).
  • Experience working in schools with a diverse student population.
  • Proficiency in AAC device usage and tailored communication strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively in both individual and group therapy settings.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work alongside occupational therapists and teaching staff.
  • Commitment to student-centered care and educational outcomes.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Travel position within local school district)
