School Speech and Language Pathologist | Charleston, South Carolina
An opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide full-time support in a K-12 public school setting located in Charleston, SC. This contract position spans from ASAP through the end of the school year (May 29, 2026), with initial placement at an elementary school serving general education, resource students, and Low Incidence programs, followed by a maternity leave coverage at another elementary school in West Ashley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to a diverse student population (general education, resource, Low Incidence, and Autism Support).
- Manage a caseload within two elementary schools, initially Dunston Elementary and later transitioning to a West Ashley elementary school.
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school district policies.
- Provide services in accordance with district and state guidelines throughout the contract duration.
Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC required).
- No pending licensure; candidates must hold full certification (no Clinical Fellows or SLP Assistants accepted).
- Experience working with K-12 students, including those with Low Incidence and Autism Spectrum Disorder, is preferred.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff and families.
Location & Schedule:
- On-site full-time position (Monday through Friday) based in Charleston, SC.
- Initial assignment at Dunston Elementary, transitioning to West Ashley for maternity leave coverage.
