Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • New York State SLP licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting is highly preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of special education laws and IEP procedures
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities to determine needs and develop individualized goals
  • Provide direct therapy services individually and in groups, utilizing evidence-based techniques
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support academic and social success for students
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation on progress, interventions, and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, team consultations, and professional development opportunities
  • Offer strategies for classroom teachers to better support students with communication challenges
