Near Buffalo, NY, we have a contract opportunity for a talented Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work in a dynamic school-based environment for the 2024/2025 school year, with renewal possibilities for continued professional growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- New York State SLP licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of special education laws and IEP procedures
- Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities to determine needs and develop individualized goals
- Provide direct therapy services individually and in groups, utilizing evidence-based techniques
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support academic and social success for students
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation on progress, interventions, and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, team consultations, and professional development opportunities
- Offer strategies for classroom teachers to better support students with communication challenges
