A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist is needed to provide specialized, one-on-one speech services to students with disabilities in a high school setting in Staten Island, NY. This contract position spans the full 2025/2026 school year and requires an ASAP start date. You will serve a diverse group of students aged 14-21, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as students with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy (CP), and other genetic disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 55 individual speech therapy sessions weekly in a school environment
- Provide tailored one-on-one therapy targeting communication goals for students with significant speech and language needs
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation and reports
- Support students’ academic and social communication development within an educational framework
Qualifications/Experience:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with relevant school setting experience
- Proven ability to work effectively with students with ASD and other complex disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate successfully with multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with evidence-based speech therapy practices and individualized education program (IEP) requirements
- Commitment to making a meaningful impact on students’ communication abilities and overall educational experience
Schedule and Location:
- Position based in Staten Island, NY
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, approximately 27.5 hours per week
- Contract role covering the entire 2025-2026 school year
