Step into a pivotal support role providing speech-language therapy services to students in grades 3–6 on a contract basis. Work onsite at a welcoming intermediate school near Birmingham, AL, collaborating closely with staff and students to facilitate communication success and academic achievement. Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a valid ABESPA Alabama SLP Certification and/or Alabama SLP DOE Certification (can start with either certification pending the other)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience delivering speech-language pathology services in a school environment preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group speech-language therapy sessions to students in 3rd through 6th grades
- Conduct evaluations, assess student needs, and document progress according to school and regulatory guidelines
- Develop and update goals aligned with students’ educational plans, collaborating with teachers and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and offer recommendations tailored to each student’s needs
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to school policies and compliance requirements
Assignment Details:
- Contract role; onsite presence required
- 15 hours per week (2 days weekly)
- Assignment runs from ASAP through late May 2027
- Serve one school with a manageable caseload
