Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Current Professional Educator Alabama SLP Certification (verify via state website)
- Previous experience in school-based speech therapy, ideally with itinerant or multi-site roles
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services onsite across Shelby County High, Columbiana Middle, and Helena Intermediate Schools (37.5 hours weekly)
- Manage an itinerant caseload of approximately 60 students, addressing diverse communication needs
- Conduct comprehensive speech/language assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary IEP teams
- Document progress and maintain compliance with all state and district reporting requirements
- Collaborate with special education staff to ensure tailored interventions and student support plans
- Travel between the three assigned campuses as scheduled
