Qualifications and Skills:
- Current, valid state certification for school-based speech-language pathologists is required
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning abilities
- Expertise in delivering therapy to students with varying backgrounds and abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt therapy methods to meet diverse student needs
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide targeted speech and language therapy to students onsite
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to track progress and ensure consistent support
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing insightful recommendations and progress updates
- Consult with faculty and families to facilitate student success and inclusion in the classroom
