School-Based SLP | Bear, Delaware
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist position is available for the 2026–2027 school year in Bear, DE, offering a contract role within a structured district setting. This opportunity is ideal for candidates holding an SLP license with certification in Clinical Competence (CCC) and school-based experience. Location: Wilmington, DE
Contract Duration: August 26, 2026 (with potential early start for professional development) through June 10, 2027
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week including a 30-minute paid lunch
- Early Childhood Hours: 8:25 a.m. – 3:55 p.m.
- Elementary Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Middle School Hours: 7:40 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.
- High School Hours: 7:15 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
Caseload Assignments Include:
- Darley Road Preschool: Itinerant AM / Building PM
- Bush Early Education Center: Preschool Building
- Harlan Elementary: General Education
- Springer Middle School: General Education
- Mt. Pleasant High School: Light caseload with district evaluation support; caseload expected to increase over time, requiring strong evaluation skills
Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Speech-Language Pathology license
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology, including evaluation skills
- Ability to manage caseloads across multiple educational settings
- Clear understanding of Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, and High School schedules and environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services across assigned caseloads
- Support district evaluation processes and special programming
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies
