School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Avondale, Arizona
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting K-5 students as a Speech Language Pathologist, beginning as soon as possible and extending through May 22, 2025. You’ll work a consistent 40-hour week at a single school site near Avondale, AZ, providing targeted speech and language services to an average caseload of 55 students. What you’ll need:
- Active Arizona Speech Language Pathologist license (ASHA CCC required; CFYs and SLPAs not eligible)
- Current Arizona Department of Health SLP license
- Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card, or the ability to obtain one
- Experience in the school setting and working with elementary-aged children preferred
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students across K-5th grades
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and diagnose speech, voice, and language disorders
- Interpret evaluation results and recommend targeted interventions
- Validate external evaluations and recommendations as needed
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide individualized therapy based on student needs and monitor progress
- Guide and support teachers in identifying and referring students for services
- Collaborate with school staff to best support student therapy goals
- Communicate effectively with parents and families about student progress and strategies
- Maintain thorough records for each student and fulfill other assigned duties
