School Speech Language Pathologist - Aurora, Illinois

Step into a meaningful role delivering high-impact speech and language services supporting PreK–5th grade students for the 2026–2027 academic year. As a Speech-Language Pathologist in a collaborative school setting, you’ll make a difference by helping students with moderate to significant communication and social-emotional needs reach their fullest potential. This full-time, in-person contract position is based on a welcoming elementary campus near Aurora, IL, with a caseload primarily comprising students in the STARS Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, creating individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver direct therapy services in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Develop, implement, and monitor communication-related IEP goals
- Work closely with general and special education staff, occupational therapists, psychologists, and families to promote student growth
- Document progress, maintain accurate therapy notes, and ensure compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Use evidence-based interventions to address complex communication, sensory, and social-emotional needs
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP Endorsement
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success supporting students with autism spectrum disorder and multifaceted communication challenges
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
