Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Chicago, IL
Help shape the future for students by providing essential speech-language services in a dynamic educational environment near Chicago, IL. This onsite, full-time opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young adults within a school and residential program setting. You’ll work closely with students who exhibit adverse or aggressive behaviors, including self-harm, property destruction, elopement, and aggression. This position welcomes both experienced SLPs and Clinical Fellows (SLP-CF).
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Illinois state licensure or eligibility
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but CFY applicants will be considered
- Experience or strong interest in pediatrics and school-based services
- Comfort and experience supporting students with challenging/adverse behaviors
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and swallowing assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student goals
- Document therapy progress and maintain compliance with school standards
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input rooted in evidence-based practice
- Offer training and resources to staff and families for ongoing student support
