Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active state licensure or eligibility for Michigan SLP licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is desirable
- Strong ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational proficiency and adaptable to dynamic learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide speech, language, and communication assessments and therapy to students with diverse needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each student’s goals
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and caregivers
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations
- Stay current with best practices, therapy techniques, and state/federal guidelines for school-based services
- Engage students in creative, evidence-based interventions to maximize their potential
