School Speech Therapist - Sterling Heights, Michigan
Make a difference every day by supporting students’ communication growth in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists holding a CCC and SLP Michigan licensure who want to make a lasting impact on children’s educational journeys. Seven full-time positions are available, each offering around 32 hours weekly. Openings serve a variety of educational settings, including preschool, elementary, middle, and high schools, with caseloads of 60 students or fewer.
Available placements include:
- Three openings each dedicated to a single elementary school
- One position serving a high school and preschool
- One role covering two middle schools
- Two positions each covering three elementary schools
What we’re seeking:
- Active SLP license in Michigan
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Demonstrated experience delivering speech-language therapy in school-based environments
- Ability to work in person and travel between assigned school sites, as needed
- Passion for working across diverse age ranges (preschool through high school)
- Commitment to collaborative, student-centered practices
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering direct speech and language interventions
- Collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to support student communication needs
- Managing progress monitoring and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Engaging in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary teams
- Providing consultation and resources to teachers to help integrate communication strategies into the classroom
