Middle School Elementary Speech-Language Pathologist in Alexandria, VA
A full-time itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available serving both elementary and middle school students in Alexandria, VA. This school-based contract position offers a manageable caseload, typically around 50 students with a maximum of 55, providing a rewarding environment to support pediatric speech and language development across diverse age groups.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed or eligible Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP credential required)
- Experience working with pediatric populations; school-based experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in multiple school locations as part of the itinerant role
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders in elementary and middle school students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student communication goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided
- Provide therapy sessions both individually and in small groups within school settings
- Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
