Full-Time Recreational Therapist for K-12 School

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking experienced Recreational Therapists for a full-time, school-based position in Las Vegas, NM. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of special education students and their families. The successful candidate will have a passion for providing therapeutic recreational activities and support within an educational setting.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must meet all local and state regulations for Recreational Therapists
- Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
- Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Job Duties:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreational activities tailored to the needs of individual students
- Assess students' strengths, needs, and interests to develop personalized treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other professionals to integrate recreational therapy goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct one-on-one or group therapy sessions to students with disabilities
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
- Educate and support families in understanding the benefits of recreational therapy and how they can incorporate therapeutic activities into their daily routines
- Advocate for the inclusion of recreational therapy services within the school community
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and research in the field of recreational therapy
