Job Title: Exceptional Education Teacher - Virtual or Onsite

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Exceptional Education Teacher to join our team. As an integral member of our educational community, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality instruction and support to students with exceptionalities, ensuring their academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Provide differentiated instruction tailored to the unique strengths, abilities, and learning styles of each student.
  3. Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and intellectual disabilities.
  4. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  5. Utilize evidence-based practices and assistive technologies to support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their educational goals.
  6. Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic growth.
  7. Implement behavior management strategies and provide social-emotional support to students with behavioral challenges, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution skills.
  8. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of exceptional education.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  2. Valid state teaching license or eligibility for licensure in exceptional education.
  3. Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  4. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of every student.
  8. Dedication to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
