Worcester, MA
Soliant is working with a sizeable school district in the area of Worcester, MA, and is seeking contract Speech-Language Pathologists for the current school year.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
- Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist License
Additional skills:
- Bilingual (ability to comprehend, speak, and evaluate ESL students) in one of the following languages: Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Twi
Applicants are typically assigned to 1-3 sites, dependent on the numbers of speech students at each school, and the extent of their direct service minutes. Additional information about caseload assignments, and about the District, will be shared in a direct interview with administrators.
As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, applicants will:
- Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs.
- Determine eligibility for speech services, and work with an interdisciplinary team to determine appropriate goals
- Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions for children with identified speech and language disorders.
- Develop individualized education plans or 504 plans and present them to parents, school administrators, and others involved with student evaluations.
- Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns.
- Maintain accurate records for all children on the caseload.
- Provide reports of children's progress to parents.
- Organize caseload and develop a schedule for each assigned school or classroom
- Develop resource materials for use in speech and language development.
