Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Therapist in Carrollton, MS
A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2026-2027 school year in a K-12 school setting located in Carrollton, MS. The role supports individualized speech and language assessment and therapy services for students ranging from PreK through grade 13, working closely with special education staff and community partners. This full school year contract position offers the option of part-time or full-time hours and requires in-person work Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services to school personnel in diagnosing and addressing speech and language challenges.
- Conduct screenings and evaluations related to speech, language, articulation, and auditory development for students referred for special education.
- Participate as an active member of multidisciplinary teams, contributing to student IEP development and interpretation of speech-language assessments.
- Maintain consistent communication with educators, families, and healthcare providers to monitor student progress.
- Deliver direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments to support academic and social communication skills.
- Assist in the development of appropriate language programs for both regular and special education classrooms.
Qualifications:
- Active Mississippi SLP License.
- Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families.
- Experience and training in assessment, evaluation, and consultation within school settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships among staff, students, families, and community partners.
- Knowledge of special education procedures, disability categories, and experience working with early learning or atypical impairments is an asset.
- Effective communication skills including active listening and appropriate communication channel use.
- Ability to bring a positive attitude, including humor and lightheartedness, to enhance the work environment.
Location: Carrollton, MS
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, In-person
Duration: Full school year (2026-2027), contract basis
