Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Citrus Heights, CA
A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized speech and language assessment and therapy services for elementary students during the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time, contract position requires working in-person within an elementary school setting in Citrus Heights, CA, serving students with diverse communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students referred for special education.
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct therapy services to support communication development, facilitating academic and personal growth.
- Consult with school personnel, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care and effective communication strategies.
- Assist in designing and implementing appropriate language programs for various classroom and community settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation and track student progress in accordance with special education guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Active California Speech Language Pathologist license.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of special education processes, disability categories, and early learning or atypical impairments.
- Strong assessment, evaluation, and consultation skills.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Effective communication skills, including active listening and professional collaboration.
- Commitment to supporting students with special education needs with empathy and professionalism.
- Incorporation of a positive, engaging attitude to create an encouraging therapeutic environment.
