Speech Language Pathology (SLP) | Helotes, Texas
Provide skilled Speech-Language Pathology services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting focused on comprehensive patient care and recovery. This contract opportunity is based in Helotes, TX, ideally suited for therapists with a background or strong interest in inpatient rehab environments.
Location: This position is located at a 32-bed inpatient rehab unit on the 3rd floor of a hospital in Helotes, TX. The rehab unit is supported by approximately 35 therapists and 50 nurses, operating primarily during the day shift, and utilizes advanced therapeutic equipment including H200/L300 and BURT. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. The facility is known for its patient-centered rehabilitation services and collaborative multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and treatment focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs) and other inpatient rehab procedures
- Deliver approximately 5 to 6 hours of therapy per day to patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, rehab aides, and PCTs
- Maintain flexibility to work on weekends, with a minimum of two weekend shifts required within every four-week period
- Adhere to unit dress code of black pants and olive scrub tops
- Follow all unit guidelines and policies, including weekend and on-call requirements
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation settings is required; candidates without this will not be considered
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Preferred: Prior inpatient rehab experience
- Open availability for weekend shifts is highly desirable
- Current BLS certification is mandatory
- Outgoing, flexible, and knowledgeable personality types tend to thrive in this environment
