Speech Therapist in San Antonio, TX
Provide specialized Speech-Language Pathology services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, tailoring treatment plans to meet individual patient needs. This contract role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality rehabilitative care.
Location: This position is based in San Antonio, TX, within a well-established inpatient rehabilitation unit that supports patient recovery through comprehensive therapy services. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy focusing on activities of daily living, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing staff, and aides.
- Utilize inpatient rehab equipment and document patient progress using Meditech EMR.
- Participate in weekend shifts as required (minimum of two per four-week period).
- Maintain professional behavior and adhere to unit policies, including dress code guidelines.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid certification and credentials as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Basic knowledge and experience in inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and schedules, including weekend availability.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication skills and an outgoing, collaborative demeanor.
