Speech Pathologist - Glen Allen, VA
Provide specialized speech therapy services within an inpatient rehabilitation setting located in Glen Allen, VA. This contract position involves working closely with a dedicated team to evaluate and treat adult patients with a variety of speech and swallowing disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and administer treatment plans for speech, language, and swallowing impairments
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and utilize specialized equipment such as VitalStim, IOPI, EMST150, and Bioness BITs
- Document patient progress accurately using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support patient recovery and rehabilitation goals
- Participate in rotating weekend shifts, approximately one per month
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Virginia License and Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience working with adult populations in medical or inpatient rehab settings
- Neurorehabilitation experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to operate and interpret data from specialized therapy equipment
- Strong patient-focused approach, flexibility, and positive team collaboration skills
Work Environment and Schedule:
- Located within a 44-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Work primarily day shifts alongside one other speech therapist; no night shifts
- Dress code includes black scrub bottoms and a preferred royal blue scrub top (other colors accepted)
