Providing specialized care in an acute clinical setting, this Speech-Language Pathology role offers the opportunity to apply independent clinical judgment and evidence-based practices to assess and treat a diverse patient population. This contract position allows for meaningful contributions in patient recovery and interdisciplinary coordination within a hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and provide therapy for patients with various acute care diagnoses.
  • Maintain clinical competency through continuous education and adherence to ethical practice standards.
  • Participate actively in departmental initiatives and programs.
  • Supervise students when available and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Meet productivity standards and prioritize patient care efficiently.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current CCC-SLP certification required; Maryland state licensure preferred or pending acceptable.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in acute care preferred; candidates with 1+ year encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with ASHA guidelines and evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Experience working in acute hospital settings is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule and Location:

  • Monday through Friday plus two additional days during the week, with an average daily census of 28 and approximately 8 patient visits daily.
  • Weekend shifts occur about once per month to cover departmental needs.
  • Shift hours are 4 days a week, 10-hour day shifts, from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
  • Scrubs colors: Caribbean Blue or Lavender.
