Provide specialized speech-language pathology services within a dynamic hospital environment focused on neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. This role requires expertise in evaluating and treating speech, language, and swallowing impairments using evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient’s developmental stage. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess speech, language, and swallowing functions in patients with impairments resulting from premature birth, injuries, or diseases.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations and clinical data.
  • Conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals across units to coordinate and enhance patient care.
  • Maintain current clinical documentation using Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse EMR systems.
  • Adhere to unit policies, including NICU infection control protocols such as bare-below-the-elbows attire.
  • Demonstrate consistent initiative, independence, and high-quality patient care in all responsibilities.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Valid Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Neonatal experience is mandatory.
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study required.
  • Pediatric and adult experience preferred.
  • Strong self-motivation and proactive approach to patient care.
