Speech Pathology | Houston, Texas
Provide specialized speech-language pathology services within a dynamic hospital environment focused on neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. This role requires expertise in evaluating and treating speech, language, and swallowing impairments using evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient’s developmental stage. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess speech, language, and swallowing functions in patients with impairments resulting from premature birth, injuries, or diseases.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations and clinical data.
- Conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across units to coordinate and enhance patient care.
- Maintain current clinical documentation using Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse EMR systems.
- Adhere to unit policies, including NICU infection control protocols such as bare-below-the-elbows attire.
- Demonstrate consistent initiative, independence, and high-quality patient care in all responsibilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Valid Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Neonatal experience is mandatory.
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study required.
- Pediatric and adult experience preferred.
- Strong self-motivation and proactive approach to patient care.
