Speech Therapist in Holyoke, MA
An experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a full-time contract position at a well-established community hospital in Holyoke, MA. Schedule/Hours
- Full-time, Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Rotating weekend coverage every other weekend: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday and Sunday
- Call required
Qualifications and Desired Experience
- Valid MA State License, BLS, CCC-SLP, and MBSImP certifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in acute care and adult outpatient settings
- Proficiency in bedside swallow evaluations, dysphagia management including International Dysphagia Diet, modifying diet orders, and thickening agents
- Familiarity with patient safety recognizing signs of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse
- Experience with documentation and billing including assessment, concurrent therapy, discharge planning, and reassessments
- Previous charge experience required
- Experience in community hospital environments preferred; teaching hospital experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech pathology assessments and treatments for adults and geriatric patients
- Manage dysphagia and dysphasia care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and unit secretaries
- Utilize electronic documentation systems and medication systems efficiently
- Provide exceptional patient care while adhering to hospital policies and protocols
