A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a contract opportunity in Elkhart, IN, offering a dynamic role within a hospital setting providing care across inpatient rehab and acute units. This position features a consistent 40-hour workweek with a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend coverage includes an alternating Saturday shift and on-call Sunday hours, all arranged in advance with management to ensure balanced scheduling.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Current State License required by start date (temporary licensure not accepted)
- BLS certification and CCC-SLP credential required
- Willingness to float between inpatient rehab and acute care units
- Ability to commit to scheduled weekend and occasional holiday shifts
- Experience working with Cerner electronic charting system preferred
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (travelers encouraged)
- First-time SLPs are welcome to apply
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders for inpatients
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans
- Provide flexible coverage in both inpatient rehabilitation and acute hospital settings

- Participate in weekend and on-call coverage as scheduled, with options for holiday shifts at premium pay
