A hospital-based therapy opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist skilled in adult inpatient rehabilitation. This contract position is located in Glen Allen, VA, offering a dynamic clinical environment within a 44-bed inpatient rehab unit.
The role involves providing comprehensive speech and swallowing evaluations and treatments to patients with diverse diagnoses. You'll utilize advanced equipment such as MBS Suite, Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, and Bioness BITs to deliver quality care. Collaboration with a small, dedicated team of speech therapists supports a focused patient care approach. Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid VA License and CCCs (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required
- Experience with adult patient populations in medical settings
- Preferred: Neuro and inpatient rehabilitation experience
- Proficient in performing Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating and treating speech and swallowing disorders
- Conducting MBS studies and interpreting results
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Participating in rotating weekend coverage, approximately one shift per month
- Supporting acute hospital settings as a float resource when required
Schedule and Work Environment:
- Day shift with no night shifts scheduled
- Scrub attire typically includes black scrub bottoms and royal blue tops (other colors accepted)
