Speech Therapy | Henrico, Virginia
Provide expert speech therapy services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting focused on adult patients recovering from a variety of neurological and medical conditions. This contract role is based in Henrico, VA, offering an opportunity to apply your specialized skills in speech-language pathology within a dynamic hospital environment. The position requires a VA license and CCCs, and experience with adult populations, with a preference for candidates who have neuro and inpatient rehab experience.
Responsibilities include evaluating and treating speech and swallowing disorders, conducting Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies, and utilizing advanced therapeutic equipment such as MBS Suite, Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, and Bioness BITs. You will work alongside a small, dedicated team of speech therapists on the unit, maintaining patient-centered care delivery with typical patient ratios of 1:8 to 1:10. Flexibility and teamwork are key as you may assist with floating to acute hospital areas and participate in a weekend rotation approximately once a month.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid VA License and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience treating adult patients in a medical or inpatient rehab setting
- Preferred: Neuro rehab and inpatient rehab experience
- Ability to operate advanced therapeutic equipment and conduct MBS studies
- Patient-focused, adaptable, and collaborative approach
Location: Situated in Henrico, VA, this role is on the 5th floor of a major medical campus known for delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services. Schedule:
- Day shift hours with a rotating weekend schedule (typically one shift per month)
