Speech Pathologist in Richmond, TX
Provide expert evaluation and rehabilitation for patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to apply standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to develop and adjust individualized plans of care, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive screenings, evaluations, and therapy sessions for patients with speech and language impairments.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools and evidence-based interventions to track patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Document all services and patient progress accurately in electronic medical records in line with regulatory requirements.
- Provide counseling and consultation to patients, family members, caregivers, and healthcare staff regarding speech and language disorders.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings such as patient care conferences and rehabilitation reviews.
- Supervise and mentor Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and student Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Ensure compliance with ASHA guidelines and state licensure requirements.
- Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology licensure in good standing.
- Certification from ASHA preferred.
- Experience working in hospital or rehabilitation settings.
- Strong knowledge of clinical practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise and support junior clinicians and students.
