Speech & Language Pathology - Kalispell, MT
An opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist with expertise in acute hospital settings to provide comprehensive therapy services. This contract role is based in Kalispell, MT, and involves working primarily day shifts in an adult inpatient environment, managing a diverse caseload of medically complex patients.

Job Type: Contract
Schedule:
- Four 9-hour day shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
- Potential periodic additional shifts
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years as a Medical Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience in acute care settings working with medically complex cases
- Comfortable managing high acuity patients across various units such as MedSurg, PCU, and ICU
- Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP), and MBSS certification
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and treatments for swallowing, cognition, speech, and language disorders
- Manage an average daily caseload of approximately 9 patients
- Provide therapy services for adult patients with conditions such as head and neck cancers, neurogenic disorders, pulmonary and gastrointestinal issues, and cognitive/speech impairments
- Float between adult inpatient units, including ICU, PCU, and surgical areas
- Utilize EMR systems (Meditech) for documentation and clinical workflows

- Orientation includes facility new employee orientation plus 1-3 days with a preceptor
- Support from a multidisciplinary team including managers, PTs, and SLPs
- Dress code allows any solid-colored scrubs
- Free parking available
- Small unit environment fostering teamwork and collaboration
- Weekend rotation required; no on-call obligations
- Holiday shifts assigned based on unit needs
