Speech Pathologist in Bessemer City, NC
Provide specialized speech-language pathology services in a fast-paced healthcare setting focusing on adult and geriatric patients. Location:
Based in Bessemer City, NC, this role serves patients primarily within Gaston, Cleveland, and Rutherford Counties. The location offers convenient free parking and operates within a clinic network that supports flexible float opportunities across branches to balance caseload volume. The surrounding area provides a blend of suburban living with access to outdoor recreation and community amenities.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech therapy to geriatric and adult patients, including dysphagia and cognitive treatment.
- Manage caseload averaging six patients per day with diagnoses including neurogenic and voice disorders.
- Utilize electronic medical records (HCHB preferred) to document patient progress and coordinate care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members such as home health nurses, RNs, and scheduling staff.
- Participate fully in a 5-day orientation program at the Cleveland unit and adapt to float assignments within the branch network as needed.
- Adhere to clinic protocol including Monday to Friday shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), with potential 10-hour shifts available upon request. No weekend or on-call duties required.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of post-certification experience (CCCs required).
- State licensure and BLS certification current and in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle available for patient home visits.
- Experience with home health preferred; skilled nursing facility experience accepted.
- Expertise in dysphagia management, aphasia, and cognitive therapy crucial to success.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, especially HCHB, preferred.
