Speech Therapist in Athol, ID
Providing expert care in pediatric speech therapy, this contract opportunity involves diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders within a hospital outpatient setting. The role focuses on rehabilitative treatment programs tailored to children with various communicative challenges, including neurologically impaired patients. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating speech and language abilities considering educational, medical, social, and psychological factors
- Designing and implementing individualized treatment programs to improve communication skills
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including occupational and physical therapists and local providers
- Adhering to state licensing requirements and maintaining professional standards
- Utilizing Epic electronic medical records system efficiently
- Ensuring regular and predictable attendance and fulfilling other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech Pathology
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Current State of Idaho Speech Language Pathologist licensure or temporary provisional permit
- Minimum of one year experience working with pediatric neurologically impaired populations
- Expertise in treating pediatric speech disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, apraxia, stuttering, AAC device use, social communication disorders, and autism spectrum disorders
- Proven competency in outpatient pediatric care settings
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required
