School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Portland, OR (2024-2025 School Year)
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. The SLP will play a crucial role in supporting the communication needs of our diverse student population, collaborating with educators, families, and community partners to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment results and student needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, both individually and in group settings.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the curriculum.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed to maximize outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing support and resources to promote carryover of skills at home.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and other collaborative activities as required.
- Stay current on best practices, research, and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Oregon state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and community partners.
- Commitment to cultural competency and equity, with the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
