School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Cranston, Rhode Island
Job Type: Short Term, Fulltime Contract - Start ASAP
Pay: $45/Hour
As a School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a crucial role in supporting the communication and language development of students within our educational community. You will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to assess, diagnose, and provide individualized interventions for students with speech and language disorders. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide strategies to promote language and communication skills across various settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, both individually and in group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success through effective communication strategies.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations.
- Provide support and guidance to teachers and staff on strategies for promoting language and communication skills in the classroom.
- Stay current on best practices, research, and trends in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Rhode Island state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based services to support student success.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced educational environment.
