Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Job Description:
- Assisting with Therapy Sessions: School speech-language pathologist assistants support speech-language pathologists during therapy sessions with students. They may help set up materials, assist students with completing activities, and provide additional support as needed to facilitate progress towards speech and language goals.
- Preparing Materials and Resources: School speech-language pathologist assistants assist in preparing materials and resources for therapy sessions and other speech-language activities. This may include organizing materials, creating visual aids, and maintaining inventory of supplies to support therapy goals and objectives.
- Providing Administrative Support: School speech-language pathologist assistants provide administrative support to speech-language pathologists, such as scheduling appointments, managing paperwork, and maintaining records of therapy sessions and student progress. They may also assist with communication between speech-language pathologists, students, parents, and other school staff.
- Assisting with Screening and Assessment: School speech-language pathologist assistants may assist with screening and assessment activities under the supervision of speech-language pathologists. This may involve administering standardized tests, conducting informal assessments, and gathering information to help speech-language pathologists evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
