Blazer Jobs is currently seeking experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) for a full-time, school-based position in Oakland, CA. As an integral member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with special education students and their families, making a meaningful impact on their lives. We are looking for dedicated professionals who meet all local and state regulations and possess a passion for helping children thrive.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program or related field
  • Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
  • Compliance with all local and state regulations
  • Experience working with special education students and families highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay Rate: $40-$45 per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  2. Provide direct therapy services to students, including but not limited to articulation, language, fluency, and voice.
  3. Collaborate with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, teachers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement therapy goals.
  4. Conduct assessments and screenings to identify speech and language disorders.
  5. Document student progress and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  6. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and home-based strategies.
  7. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on students' speech and language needs.
  8. Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
  9. Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and other regulatory bodies.
