Blazer Jobs is seeking a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a school-based contract in Oakland, California. This full-time role is open to both local professionals and travel candidates seeking rewarding opportunities in one of the most dynamic regions of the country.
Position Summary:
You will provide instruction, resources, and adaptive strategies to help students with visual impairments access curriculum and develop independence in academic and life skills.
Your Role Will Include:

Teaching and supporting K–12 students with visual impairments
-
Creating and maintaining IEPs
-
Adapting instructional materials and lessons for accessibility
-
Training teachers and staff on accommodations and assistive technology
-
Collaborating with families, therapists, and administrators
-
Maintaining compliance with IDEA and California education regulations
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
-
California certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (or eligibility)
-
School-based experience preferred
-
Strong knowledge of IEP compliance and student accommodations
Local Contract (W-2):
-
Hourly Pay: $58–$66/hour

Weekly Gross Pay: $2,000–$2,400/week
