Remote Special Education Case Manager Barre, VT Elementary & Middle School Levels

This opportunity is a fully remote, coordination-centered role that focuses on overseeing and facilitating IEP processes rather than direct instructional delivery. It plays a key part in tracking student progress and making sure accommodations are implemented effectively.
Position Overview
Location: Remote (Serving Barre, VT school district)
Caseload: Manage approximately 23 students per grade, covering 2 grade levels (around 45 students total)
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Dates: August 18, 2025 – June 19, 2026 (tentative, aligned with district calendar)
Core Responsibilities

Act as the primary case manager for students spanning two grade levels

Organize and lead IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations

Draft and maintain compliant IEPs, monitor student progress, and ensure all deadlines are met

Collaborate effectively with teachers, service providers, and other school staff involved with these students

Keep ongoing weekly communication with staff and families regarding student goals and progress

Analyze academic and behavioral data to inform IEP adjustments and necessary supports

Assist the school team in ensuring all accommodations and modifications are implemented and followed
Ideal Candidate Profile

Holds a valid Vermont Special Educator License

Experience working with students with disabilities in either school or virtual environments

Demonstrated expertise in case management, IEP development, and compliance requirements

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Capable of managing multiple student caseloads while collaborating with a dedicated team

Detail-oriented with a passion for coordinating services and maintaining strong relationships with staff and families
