Elementary Special Education Teacher (SPED)

Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher – Albemarle, NC

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a contract position in Albemarle, NC. This is a school-based role for the upcoming school year, serving an elementary school caseload. We are looking for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and who is confident working in a collaborative educational environment.

Position Details:

• Location: Albemarle, NC

• Schedule: Full-time, contract position

• Caseload: Elementary students

• Start Date: New school year

• Software Knowledge: ECATS experience required

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with mild to moderate disabilities

• Track student progress and update goals using ECATS

• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success

• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions

• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate students’ learning styles

• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Qualifications:

• Must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations for Special Education Teachers in North Carolina

• Valid NC teaching license with appropriate SPED endorsement

• Proficiency in ECATS is required

• Previous experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred
